WE AT MY BOOK ADDICTION AND MORE ARE EXCITED TO HAVE CARI QUINN AS OUR GUEST TODAY!!
CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE AUTHOR CARI QUINN!!
BIO:(From the author’s website)
Cari Quinn wrote her first story – a bible parable – in 2nd grade, much to the delight of the nuns at her Catholic school. Once she saw the warm reception that first tale garnered, she was hooked. She attempted her first romance in junior high, long before she’d ever read one. Writing what she knew always took a backseat to what she wanted to know, and that still holds true today. Cari’s genres of choice include contemporary, romantic comedy, romantic suspense, urban fantasy and paranormal. Recently she discovered erotic romance. Oh, how far she’s come.
MEET AUTHOR, CARI QUINN!
Good morning Cari and welcome to My Book Addiction and More…
Thank you so much for having me here today!
MBA&M: Tell our readers a little about Cari Quinn?
CARI:Sure thing! First and foremost, I’m a reader. I fell in love with books at a young age and always preferred to read more than anything else. That’s still true today, especially when I’m wrestling with one of my own stories! I write sexy, fun contemporary romances along with a bit darker and more explicit erotic romances and hope to be writing both for a long time.
MBA&M: What made you decide to write contemporary romance?
CARI:Good question! Mainly because I love contemporary romance. It’s the first genre I pick up when I read. As much as I enjoy a good paranormal, contemporary romances in particular give me hope for how well “ordinary” life can work out if you stay on your toes and never give up. I like to think we’re all a day or a moment away from our own happily ever after—if we’re willing to work for it!
MBA&M: What was some of the challenges in writing “No Dress Required”?
CARI:Oooh, another good question! Jake and Noelle were pretty easy to write about, but it was definitely a challenge telling an entertaining, romantic story in an abbreviated word count. Hopefully readers think I did a good job, as I think Entangled Publishing’s new lines of shorter romances, Flirts and Ever Afters, are a perfect way to get your reading fix in a shorter amount of time!
MBA&M: Who is your hero,in life,and in fiction?Why?
CARI:This probably isn’t the most politically correct answer, but my hero is Nora Roberts. While obviously there are a lot of amazing, incredible political figures and the like who have helped positively shaped history, Nora’s always been my personal hero because early on she found the one thing she wanted to do with her life and carved out a successful career despite the many obstacles.
Hmm, in fiction, my hero is probably Cat Crawfield in the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. She’s such a kickass chick and she’s continually learned and grown throughout the series—and heck, I idolize her just because her hero is the delectable Bones! (Yep, I’m really that shallow sometimes!)
MBA&M:If you could change anything in your life, what would it be and why?
CARI:Gosh, I could answer this so many ways! I think I would wish to not ever be afraid. Fear holds so many of us back and sometimes it’s a limitation we create for ourselves.
MBA&M: How would you describe your writing career,in terms of challenges, triumphs, trials and joys?
CARI: Right now, I’d describe it as amazing. I never truly believed deep down that people I don’t know would spend their hard-earned money on my books. That they do is something I never, ever will take for granted and will always be eternally grateful for.
MBA&M: Cari, I see you have written several genre, which is your favorite and why?
CARI: Wow, so many excellent questions! Right now I write mostly contemporary romance, with the main difference between my stories being the heat level. I think contemporary romance will always be my first love and I can’t see myself ever leaving that genre, even if I start writing other types of stories as well.
MBA&M: Now, Cari tell our readers where to find you and where “No Dress Required”?

Cari is a new-to-me author but I will definitely be checking out her previous books ASAP! No Dress Required sounds like a book I would enjoy very much. I looove when the hero and heroine are friends before becoming romantic. Thanks for the chance to win!

What a great interview. Cari and I have a mutual admiration for Mz. Roberts. The big dream is to be JUST like her when we grow up. 😉 I’ll take the $ too, but I want to emulate her drive. That woman STILL works like her butt’s on fire and I love her for it.
I enjoyed the interview and getting to know Cari a bit. I know I’ve read some of Cari’s work, but can’t remember titles (must be I’m not taking enough ginkgo biloba – ;o)! I have a bookcase full of Nora Roberts’ books, so I think she makes a great hero, too.
Was there a particular event that sparked the idea for “No Dress Required”? Wishing you continued success.

Hello Cari! I really love the premise for No Dress Required. I think it sounds like a fun story.
I have heard many authors say that novellas can take longer to plan than full length novels. I think it must be a challenge to tell a complete story within a very limited word count.
Thanks so much for the awesome giveaway!

Hi everyone! Thanks for having me here! I’m sorry it took a couple days for me to respond to comments but I appreciate the replies from everyone who stopped by. 🙂
Karen C, actually, no, there wasn’t one particular event that inspired No Dress Required but listening to the Delilah radio show actually helped me come up with a big chunk of Jake, the hero’s backstory! Inspiration can come from unusual places!
Thank you to everyone who has tried my work! I really appreciate it. I hope if you read No Dress Required that you enjoy the story! 🙂
