Holiday Memories
It’s always been a tradition in my family from the time I was growing up until now that we decorate the day after Thanksgiving. All the Christmas boxes of decorations come out and the entire family gets involved in the decorating. When I was growing up I remember going to my grandmother’s in Louisiana and sitting in front of her white tree. There was a light that they set in front of the tree that would turn and shine different lights (red, blue, green, purple) over the entire tree.
Decorations sure have changed over the years, but I watch my kids at my parents and hope they have the same wonderful memories I have of my childhood Christmases. I don’t remember the things I got, but I remember the laughter and good food and great times. And in the end, that’s all that really matters.
Merry Christmas everyone!
hugs,
Donna

Hey Donna, April, and Wendy. Don’t enter me in the contest. Just wanted to stop by and say “HI”
Donna, Merry Christmas to you and the boys! Give a hug to hubs for me. You already know I love your books. I can’t wait to read Broc’s story. He’s been a fascinating character and I’m glad to see we can learn more about him.
Nice family tradition. In my childhood the tree went up the second week of December and always stayed up until until January 6th. Lots of beautiful memories.

Several years in a row our family consisting of four children, hubby and me, were sick at Christmas. We were about to celebrate OUR Christmas in July so we would be well to enjoy it. Anyways the Christmas we had the mumps was one I will never forget..all four kids and me had mumps and looked like chipmucks Of course a big dinner was out of the question..no way could that be enjoyed but we all enjoyed the tree and neighbors stopped by and knocked on our door and here they were so nice and made up a basket of jello treats, pudding and things we could eat. A gift was included for each of the kids and we made the most of the holiday. It will be one never to be forgotten. susan Leech garysue@dejazzd.com
Hi, Donna! Your Highlander series sounds great!
My favorite memory is watching Christmas movies with my family-which we do every year 🙂
Hi Donna!
Wonderful post, thanks for stopping by MBA&M!
I’m soooo happy you have SISTERS OF MAGIC (re-released) for Kindle! YAY YOU!!!
I have books #1 & #2, now I’m waiting for #3, I can’t wait!!
Congrats on your new book DARKEST HIGHLANDER, wishing you the best!
My favorite Christmas tradition with our family is the FOOD, mainly desserts. We have been doing this for years, we do have fun, but we all try to out do each other. Our mom’s the judge, our husbands chickened-out.
No matter whose house we’re at, there’s always this friendly competiton between us girls on who brings the sweetest, yummiest, gooiest desserts.
Seeing that it’s the Christmas season, we’re at each others house all of the time. We help decorate and babysit and gift-wrap all the presents, so there’s desserts every night, like for two weeks straight. Talk about your sugar over-load! LOL!!
Thank you for the giveaway!
Merry Christmas everyone!!

My favorite Christmas memory is when my whole family was together at my sister’s house, we all piled in the car that evening and drove around town to see all the beautiful lights and decorations, then returned for some pumpkin pie and whipped cream, yum.

Hi, Donna and all ! I remember the gatherings of all the family members, my Dad was one of ten sibs so there were
lots of relatives! Watching all the women of the family (Grandmother Castillo, all the aunts, older cousins) making
tamales and producing mega-meals for our big Texas family. I don’t remember the gifts we received, it was the
family togetherness that has stayed in my mind. God bless all, enjoy a Merry, Merry Christmas!!

One of my favorites was walking out of church at midnight and having it be snowing and having a real white Christmas.
Happy Holidays!!
