COLD LONELY COURAGE by Soren Paul Petrek is an amazing historical fiction set during World War II in France. It is well written with depth, details, and historical facts. It is the second printing of this book and this author’s debut novel. It is inspired by the true story of a Belgian woman who was involved in saving countless Jewish children from the Nazi regime. It has terror, revenge, rape, assassin,French,Germans, terror, sacrifice, loneliness, survival, family,Allied Forces, and courage. This is a compelling story of the many atrocities the Germans committed upon the people of France. The tragedies and violence brought the women, children, old people, and anyone who got in they way with no regard to life. It is also the story of one woman, who had lost her brother, she was brutally raped by an SS officer and had the courage to fight back. Her faith, courage, anger, revenge sent her to Britain to become one of the most feared assassins in all of France. She struck without warning, without fear, was precise, and deadly.Although, she was trained as a SOE agent for Britain, she falls in love with her trainer/captain.It will be three years before they see each other again, but their love for each other has only grown and deeper than the war that keep them apart.I would highly recommend this book especially if you enjoy the history of war,the people involved, the danger they where in,and their courage. This is a fast paced, action packed story of love, sacrifice and the loneliness of war. This book was received for the purpose of review from Bostick Communications and the author and details can be found at Black Rose Writing.
