    MY THOUGHTS:

RECKLESS by Anne Stuart is a historical romance set in 1804 England. It is well written with detail and depth. It has romance, passion, betrayal, redemption, sex, love, suspense, deceit, a journey of discovery, and a secret society where Aristocrats can indulge in their carnal desires and fantasies without any consequences. It is fast paced, page turning and has an ongoing plot with multiple facets to the story. The characters engaging, strong willed, humor, determined, and will carry you along in the story. You have one story going where the organizer of the secret society, Monty, is dying and trying to help his dear friends( Adrian, Charlotte, Simon, and Lady Whitmore) find their hap pines before he dies. Then you have the betrayal of the hero, Adrian Rohan, by his cousin. You have the discovery of passion and love by our heroine, Charlotte Spenser. Adrian, alone,in despair over the death of his older brother some fifteen years earlier has led a life of pleasure seeking, debauchery, gambling and drinking until he meets the plain, tall, slender, not so attractive, intelligent Charlotte Spencer.  Charlotte, the plain, tall, slender, intelligent and not so attractive heroine, has longed and dreamed about Adrian for years, has led a life of quietness, curiosity, simple, knows her faults and lives with her cousin Lady Whitmore. Charlotte has intrigued Adrian, together they find they are attracted to each other. They try to deny their feelings, but come to realize after a near death experience that they are truly in love. At first glance this story seems only about fulfilling the carnal desires, but you soon learn it has many facets to this story. I would recommend this book especially if you enjoy passion, longing, suspense, discovery and true love. This book was received for review from Net Galley and details can be found at MIRA books.
