Two Feuding Families

Amber Jardin has no taste for the bitter feud started before her father’s banishment. But now that he’s passed, she’s had to return to Scotland and his barbaric people. After her bloodthirsty uncle kidnaps one of the family’s rivals, Amber is in turn captured by Krayne Johnstone, the enemy laird. Despite their enmity, their attraction is immediate—and unfortunate, as Amber has sworn to escape.

One Lusty Temptation

Krayne is amazed at the wildcat’s repeated attempts to flee. He should steel himself against her beguiling ways—yet with time, he is driven more witless with lust. When the ransom exchange fails and Krayne is left with Amber, he finds he cannot tolerate the thought of her with another man—and she cannot tolerate the thought of returning to her uncle’s home.

Will passion and love win out over mistrust and betrayal in time to prevent an all-out war?

MY THOUGHT:

BETRAYED BY CLAIRE ROBYNS is a historical romance set in early Scotland. It is well written with depth and details. The plot is well written. The characters are well developed, easy to follow, easy to relate to, although our heroine, Amber needs to grow up sooner. She is still enchanting. It has a kidnapping, lust, passion, twists, turns, romance, secrets, suspense, loyalty, mistrust, betrayal, death and family feuds. The hero, Krayne, is strong, handsome, sexy, loyal, fearless, devoted, believes in his responsibilities and determined to keep Amber safe and under his protection. The heroine, Amber, is young, reckless, a wildcat, beautiful, strong willed, a seductress and determined to get into trouble. In the beginning Amber is kidnapped by Krayne in order to use her an exchange for his cousin, who Amber’s uncle has captured. Amber’s uncle is evil, deceitful, and has no love lost for his niece. Sparks fly between Krayne and Amber from the beginning although both try not to succumb to their desires. Krayne ends up married to Amber, and what follows is truly a test of love, faith and determination to survive. If you enjoy Scottish romance, adventure, with twists and turns abound you will surely enjoy this one. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys everything Scottish.
