From the Publisher

An expert in antiquities, Lady Alessandra della Giamatti arrives in Bath to excavate newly discovered Roman ruins-only to find herself caught in a web of evil intrigue by a blackmailer threatening to expose her scandalous past. The one man who can help her is Lord James “Black Jack” Pierson, a fellow member of the expedition and a sinfully handsome rogue whose tempting presence ignites a different sort of danger.

Jack has clashed with Alessandra in the past, so when she suddenly surrenders her body he can’t help being suspicious. Is she a scheming temptress? Or is she truly a lady in trouble? As desire and deceptions swirl around them, Alessandra and Jack must find a way to win each other’s trust. For if they don’t work together to uncover a shocking truth, their enemy-and their own simmering passions-may destroy them and everything they cherish.

MY THOUGHTS:

TO SURRENDER TO A ROGUE by Cara Elliott is adventurous, delightful historical romance set in 1800 England. It is the second in the Circle of Sin series but can be read as a stand alone. It is well written with depth, detail and history. It has suspense, betrayal, truth, adventure, romance, sensuality with simmering passion, full of passion for history and archeology, and of course a wonderful love story. The hero is handsome, strong, passionate, witty and determined. The heroine is also strong willed, stubborn, beautiful, passionate and witty. She has a smart mouth, beautiful 8 year old daughter, who you quickly will fall in love with, she is witty and daring. Although, our hero and heroine try not to become friends lust takes over. Our hero learns some disturbing news and is determined to find out the truth about our heroine. Our heroine decides she can no longer not tell our hero the truth, so she tells him the truth about her past and how she is being blackmailed. They embark on a mission to save her,her reputation and put the bad guys to right . This is a must keep, fast paced, page turning, quick read. I would highly recommend this story especially if you enjoy Regency, passion, adventure, history and a really good read. If you have not read the first in this series(To Sin with A Scoundrel), pick it up too, you will not regret either of these books.
